This section attempts to anticipate the most common questions new visitors might have about the site. If you have a question you would like answered, email us at: info@freeAppCalendar.com.
NOTE: The following FAQ is out-of-date since we have disabled voting on the site. We will update the FAQ soon. Thank you.
How does this site work?
Every day, visitors like you come to the site and browse through the available list of apps. You choose which game or app you would most like to get for free and you vote for it. Voting is open from 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once a week, the 7 apps with the most votes are chosen to be featured for free the following week.
We notify the selected developers by email so they can make the necessary preparations to make their app free. You come can back to the site every day to see if the app you voted for is free! If not, don`t worry, your votes accumulate as long as the app is in the voting pool.
Why does the site say that App X is free today, but it still shows up as paid in iTunes?
freeAppCalendar.com works closely with developers to ensure that their featured app is switched to free at around 10pm Pacific Time the night before being featured, however, iTunes often takes several hours for the price change to be seen, especially in countries outside of North America. There is nothing you or we can do about it except be patient and wait!
How many votes am I allowed?
Each visitor is allowed one vote every day.
Why do you sometimes feature an app that was not in the voting pool?
Sometimes developers who have previously agreed to make their app free on a given day are not able to do so for various reasons. In that case, we need to find a replacement free app on short notice, and sometimes it won`t be an app that was in the voting pool.
I voted for a certain app, and now it is not in the voting pool anymore and it never got featured. What`s going on?
Sometimes developers choose to remove their apps from the voting pool or limit how long their app will be available in the voting pool. We cannot control this. Also, sometimes an app no longer meets the requirements to be featured in the voting pool (for example, if the developer switches their app to free while it is in the voting pool).
When am I allowed to vote?
Voting is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How do games & apps get added to the voting pool?
Developers register with freeAppCalendar.com and add their games & apps to the voting pool voluntarily. Once we review and approve each app, it becomes eligible for voting immediately.
If there is an app you would like to see added to the voting pool, please contact the developer and point them to our site.
